                                                 ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of electronic media on moral development of students in Obafemi Owode. Ogun State. The researcher used random sample technique for the study. The total population for the study were 150 respondents. It comprised both the students and the teachers. The study was guided by the following four research questions

1.There is no significant relationship between secondary school students’ exposure to the electronic media and the behaviour.

2.There is no significant difference between the behaviour of students who have unrestricted access to the electronic media and those monitored by their parents as regards its usage.

3.There is no significant difference between the academic performance of secondary school students that spend more time on leisure activities and those that study often.

4.There is no significant difference between all forms of televised violence and defiance behaviour in secondary school students. 

Questionnaire were used to gather quantitative and quantitative data. The researcher  used  Two ways analysis of variance and Chi-square. The finding of the study showed that a child with a distorted childhood could end up being an abuser, a fornicator and by extension an adulterer. Spending time on leisure activities could not be adjudged to be best for any students that want to succeed academically also there is a great relationship between all form of violence witnesses and deviant behaviour in secondary school students. 

The study recommended that school administration and teachers inform the students on the harmful effects of electronic media and the policy makers ensure that program and content broadcasted over the media are censored before they are broadcasted
